SO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

  • We work up the projects in more detail
  • In January , we start checking the proposals to make sure they will tackle the problems the community has identified.

WHO WILL DO THIS?

YOU!!  Local people are needed to help us check that the ideas really will tackle the problems of the area.

If you live or work in the area, play
your part in making Heywood a better place.

For more information, call in at the New Deal for Old Heywood Office at 58 Market St, or ring us on 691203.

REMEMBER!!

We're "asking the audience" to make sure the £millions we get from the Government really works for the people of the area.  To get involved, "phone a friend" on 691203!

Sarah and William were presented with their prizes by the Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor and Mrs Brian Leather, and Mr N Bruckshaw, Headteacher of Harwood Park School.
The school was preparing for its Christmas play "Robin Hood"

A  big thank you to Megabowl and Planet Play for their
generous sponsorship of the competition

WHAT IS A QUICK WIN?

A Quick Win is a way of helping the community quickly with money for small schemes.
Quick Wins aim to

  • Help existing activities
  • Encourage new activities
All projects must link to the objectives of New Deal for Communities, and benefit the local community in some way.
For more details or a chat about your ideas, please
  • Ring Jean on 691203, or
  • Call in to the office at 58 Market St, Heywood.
Applications can be considered every 2 weeks, so decisions shouldn't take long.

PLEASE LET US HAVE
YOUR IDEAS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Household Survey

By the time you receive this Newsletter, our Household Survey will be
finishing.  Thanks to all of you who took the time and effort to talk to the people doing the survey.

The information will be very valuable in telling us more about the community's priorities for action and helping us to plan ahead.

In future years, we will carry out similar surveys to see how the area is improving and what problems still remain
.
